LIMNTPS — Support & Documentation

Official LIMNTPS Support | LIMNMEDIA

Camera setup, documentation, and recovery for stop-motion animation.

Welcome to the official support center for LIMNTPS, a mobile application developed by LIMNMEDIA.

LIMNTPS helps stop-motion artists document camera setups, record physical measurements, and generate reference materials for camera alignment and recovery.

Built around the Three-Point System (TPS), LIMNTPS provides a practical way to preserve camera setup information so you can return to it when needed.

Less guesswork. More animation.

Getting Started

LIMNTPS uses three identifiable reference points and physical measurements to document the geometry of a camera setup.

Your First Camera Setup

  1. Import a reference image. Select an image from your original camera setup.
  2. Identify three reference points. Mark points A, B, and C in the image.
  3. Enter physical measurements. Record the distances between the three reference points.
  4. Review camera information. Confirm your camera, sensor, and lens information.
  5. Enter camera measurements. Provide the required tilt and focus-distance information.
  6. Calculate your setup. LIMNTPS uses the measurements to calculate camera geometry.
  7. Save your A-Side. Preserve the original camera setup information.
  8. Export your results. Generate TPS files, reference overlays, and reports for your production workflow.

LIMNTPS does not automatically reposition your camera. It provides measurements and visual references to support camera alignment.

Documentation & Guides

Learn how to use LIMNTPS and understand the Three-Point System.

Getting Started with LIMNTPS

An introduction to creating your first TPS setup, entering measurements, saving your A-Side, and exporting reference materials.

Understanding the Three-Point System (TPS)

Learn the geometric principles behind TPS and how three physical reference points can help document camera geometry.

Topics include:

  • The Sacred Triangle
  • Physical reference points
  • Camera projection
  • Measurement and scale
  • A-Side and B-Side reference images

TPS Camera Recovery Procedure (TPS-CRP)

A technical guide to using saved TPS information to assist with camera recovery.

The experimental procedure covers:

  • Preparing the original reference image
  • Restoring camera tilt and roll
  • Using the A–B Base Pair to guide alignment
  • Adjusting camera distance and position
  • Using point C to refine the projected triangle
  • Verifying the final composition

Development status: TPS-CRP v0.1 is experimental. The complete procedure has not yet been physically validated for repeatability.

Saving and Exporting Camera Setups

Additional documentation will be published as it becomes available.

Camera Recovery with Dragonframe

LIMNTPS can generate reference overlays for use in compatible Dragonframe workflows.

These overlays provide a visual reference for comparing your original camera setup with the current camera image.

Basic Recovery Workflow

  1. Document and save your original camera setup using LIMNTPS.
  2. Export the reference overlay.
  3. Load the overlay into Dragonframe.
  4. Compare the original reference points against the live camera image.
  5. Adjust the camera to improve alignment.
  6. Verify the complete composition before continuing animation.

The Three-Point System provides geometric references to help guide this process.

Important: Matching three projected points does not, by itself, guarantee that the complete camera pose or image has been recovered. Always verify the full composition.

LIMNTPS is an independent LIMNMEDIA product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Dragonframe.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is LIMNTPS?

LIMNTPS is a mobile application for documenting stop-motion camera setups using the Three-Point System.

It records reference-point measurements and camera information, performs geometric calculations, and exports materials that can assist with camera alignment and recovery.

What is the Three-Point System?

The Three-Point System uses three identifiable physical reference points and their corresponding image positions to establish a measurable relationship between a camera and a scene.

Do I need a motion-control camera?

No. LIMNTPS can be used with manually positioned cameras, tripods, camera supports, and motion-control equipment.

Does LIMNTPS automatically recover my camera position?

No. LIMNTPS provides geometric calculations, measurements, and visual references. The camera operator performs the physical alignment and verifies the result.

Does LIMNTPS require an internet connection?

No. The marketplace application is designed to operate entirely offline.

Do I need to create an account?

No. LIMNTPS does not require registration, sign-in, or account creation.

Does LIMNTPS collect analytics or track my activity?

No. The audited marketplace application does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or external crash-reporting services.

Diagnostic events may be recorded locally to help troubleshoot problems. These logs are not automatically transmitted.

For additional information, review the LIMNTPS Privacy Policy.

Where are my files stored?

LIMNTPS processes camera setup information locally.

You choose where to save exported files through your device's document workflow.

Can I share my TPS files?

Yes. You can export TPS information and reference materials for use in your production workflow or to share with collaborators.

Troubleshooting

Having trouble with LIMNTPS? Here are a few things to check.

My camera information is incorrect or missing.

Review the camera and sensor information displayed by LIMNTPS.

Camera metadata varies between manufacturers and devices, so some information may need to be reviewed or entered manually.

My reference points aren't aligning correctly.

Check that:

  • Points A, B, and C correspond to the correct physical locations.
  • The measured distances are accurate.
  • Camera tilt and focus-distance measurements are correct.
  • The reference image matches the original camera setup.
  • The correct exported overlay is being used.

Small measurement errors can affect the resulting geometry.

My exported overlay doesn't match the camera image.

Confirm that you're using the correct reference image and that your camera settings are consistent with the original setup.

Review focal length, image framing, tilt, and physical reference-point measurements.

The application isn't working as expected.

First, confirm you're using the latest available version of LIMNTPS.

If the problem continues, contact our support team with a description of the issue.
