Precision-focused for Multi-Pass Stop-Motion, VFX integration, miniature photography, and CG compositing.
LENSMap
Effective Focal Length
LENSMap is LIMNMEDIA’s open-source tool for mapping effective focal length (EFL) across focus distances. Designed for cinematographers, stop-motion artists, and VFX professionals, it provides a simple browser-based interface to capture, calculate, and export precise lens data — essential for multi-pass alignment, matchmoving, and integrating practical with digital elements.
In traditional pipelines, camera metadata only tells part of the story. Especially in stop-motion, where lenses are often repurposed, vintage, or adapted, there’s no reliable way to document or replicate effective focal length (EFL) as it changes with focus. That inconsistency leads to subtle — and sometimes production-breaking — errors when compositing, scaling puppets, matching plates, or integrating CG.
Available Now: Calibration Preview Edition
